The best fishing stories start with disasters. Ours began with a fly box that exploded on the riverbank, sending hand-tied flies scattered across wet rocks like confetti at the world’s saddest party. That cheap plastic case — the one everyone starts with — had finally given up. Right there, knee-deep in the Deschutes with trout rising all around us, we decided anglers deserved gear that actually worked when it mattered.
Tacky Fly Box was born from pure frustration and a simple idea: your flies represent hours of tying, dollars spent, and memories waiting to happen. They deserve better than flimsy hinges and foam that shreds after a season. So we engineered boxes that grip flies like they’re precious (because they are), with magnetic closures that work even with cold, wet hands and clear lids that let you find the right pattern without opening six different compartments.
